I recently replaced my Canon Pixma 4500 with a MP5250 all-in-one. The new ink cartridges (525/526) are significantly smaller than the earlier type (PGI5/CLI8) and cost almost the same. Indeed, at high-street prices, a replacement set cost more than the printer!
I have experimented with compatible cartridges before with varying success, so approached these from First Coice with caution. As far as I can tell, the quality matches that of Canon originals, at least for routine text and graphics printing. I havn’t yet compared photographic prints using the two sources of ink.
One final point: the cartridges supplied by FCI are transparent, allowing you to see that the ink is exhausted (I generally ignore warning messages such as ink cartridge may be empty, please replace”). The Canon cartridges are black plastic so who knows how much remains?”””

Although I purchased these ink cartridges a while ago I have only just needed to use one, they are great, the printer recognised them straight away and everything printed off perfect, a lot of pattern type can give problems but these are just the job, the only ones I will bother with when I need more.

Many folk warn that using printer inks that are not made by the brand name spells long term disaster for the printer. I absolutely disagree! I have always bought compatible inks and they are exceptional even down to being chipped which is essential or they will not work with the newest printers. I consider paying the inflated prices that the main manufacturers demand is unsustainable and these Canon compatible inks are excellent quality.

I am using these with the Canon 4950 printer where they work perfectly. Can’t fault them – most fake cartridges are rubbish but these are fine.

I buy compatible inks in the belief that they will perform to an industry standard etc;i.e.they won’t smudge or bleed,be dried instantly,no printing streaks and reliable colours,and,of course,value for money.I’m happy to tell you that these twin-pack inks perform 100 percent,which is exactly what it says on the packs,therefore,to my mind they most definitely are excellent value for money.

Doesn’t make any sense that you can buy these inks for less than one solitary ink from Canon. Strong believer in you get what you pay for but these indicate that with Canon you pay more than you get. These inks installed without any problems and so far have printed 10 full A4 glossy high definition photos with all cartridges showing 80% left. Can’t testify to the long term stability of these inks but I’ve no real need for them to last years and years, at this price I’ll just print them again if they fade.

These Canon Pixma MG 5250 625 compatible ink cartridges with chips are great. They worked first time. And they don’t cost a fortune.
I was sent some by someone else which were not good at all – I didn’t know I needed them with chips.
So I am happy now.

I’ve tried a number of different makes of compatible inks and these are the best yet. I can’t see any difference between them and the Canon originala apart from the price. I do a lot of photo printing from my Nikon D80 and I am very happy with the bright and vibrant colours I get; I wouldn’t want to have a decent camera only to produce poor quality prints and that’s certainly not the case with FCI’s product. I have a friend who is a semi-professional portrait photographer and he uses these inks for producing prints for his clients – if it’s good enough for him, it’s certainly good enough for me.
