It never ceases to amaze me how many people have blind faith in their mobile phones. Particularly the kids! Everything stored on them. Their entire lives. We probably all do this to a certain extent but how many times do I worry that the battery will go? I will lose it? Even break it? Does a train ticket matter if it's on my phone and I can't get access? Maybe not. Fairly inexpensive to replace. Same with a cinema ticket. Insurance document? Unlikely that I will need it instantly and it will be on another device for me to look at later. I have lots of things like that. However, I am going away shortly. I am going abroad. It strikes the fear of dread in me to think I don't have a hard copy of my ticket! The thought of not being able to show it instantly when going through security or the boarding gate. I do not want to be that person holding everyone else up, making me panic and fumble more. So my mantra is IF IN DOUBT PRINT IT OUT! I always take a printed off version of my ticket. Pop in my bag and hey presto I have instant access. No sweating or panicking for me. I just can't understand why no everyone does this? Is it people of a certain age that worry about things like this I wonder. Do we all get to the age where we just want to keep it simple? Have less reliance on our mobile phones? Know where we are at without pressing here there and everywhere. Am I officially old? Maybe I should ask myself if I actually care about growing older. I don't think I do. Who needs the stress of using an app for this and an app for that? If life is easier by printing out a few things that I need and want to keep track of then that gets a big tick for me! I am all about making things easier thank you very much and you whipper snappers out there will understand one day! |
